Conceived as part of the Mouvements minuscules program through a delegated production led by Le Gymnase CDCN, Coquilles is Amala Dianor’s first choreographic commission for early childhood. This duo playfully and dynamically explores interactions between different styles, ranging from classical dance to hip-hop and contemporary movement. Set to an eclectic musical score that blends diverse sounds—combining classical references with the songs of Senegalese griots—this joyful, light-hearted choreography explores the motif of the shell through games of hide-and-seek, designed to spark laughter and surprise. In a ballet of swirling umbrellas and modular hideaways to curl up in, both children and adults alike will be captivated by this zesty performance, glowing with the colors of childhood.
The performance is followed by a discussion. Educational activities, led by the artistic team, can be devised around the piece in order to support young audiences, educational teams or families in their reading of the work.
No upcoming representation.
